Tokina 500mm f/8 reflex + Nikon TC-200 2x teleconverter (equivalent 1000mm f/16) + Nikon D200 D-SLR for 1/10th sec at ISO 200, using Mirror Lock-up mode (exposure fires 30sec timeout after manual shutter release), Star-D aluminum tripod. Converted from color to B&W and resized but otherwise unmanipulated. Full frame.

Telephoto ... not as tack-sharp as other examples on this site taken

using a telescope, but passable at 4x6 or 5x7 ?
