tonmestrom 4 Posted March 9, 2008 Don't know what you're implying with riff-raff. Although it sounds it bit (?) condescending I will just ignore it. Anyway for me this is a b&w from the high end of the scale. From a technical point of view there is nothing that I can see left to be wished for. Superb would therefore seem to be an appropiate superlative. From an atmospheric point of view it's a beautiful landscape and from an artistic point of view you've created an excellent composition, classical in a way with that use of a dark foreground leading to a light background. I like it a lot. Regards from Holland, Ton Link to comment
jstream 0 Posted March 9, 2008 Well Tim, you've managed to go past the standard here, and found a new way to look at this particular subject. Very well done. Good composition and tone, some hints of color which are hard to find on a day like this. Good, good, good! Link to comment
garry_young1 1 Posted March 9, 2008 Well Tim, if you want to make people welcome, and therefor are opening your arms to riff-raff, I feel grateful and inspired to leave a comment. I am struck by the strong composition in this shot. As a riff-raff amateur ;), I can't figure out how to "see" compositions like this! The conditions must have been really chilly! At least that is how I feel looking at the shot! Were I a riff-raff traveler passing by in need of shelter, I must say the "casa" looks both welcoming because of the conditions, and yet slightly foreboding in some sense. Wonderful. Thanks. tholte 16,955 Posted March 9, 2008 Tom, William and Garry, I appreciate comments from the riff-raff, no matter where they are from. Being a a charter member of the Riff-Raff Club of Milwaukee (RRCM) I would never raise my self to the lofty level of condescension. I appreciate your sense of humor! Link to comment
tonmestrom 4 Posted March 9, 2008 Tim, on this side of that big ocean riff-raff has a negative connotation, hence the confusion. Link to comment
bradkim 8 Posted March 10, 2008 Exquisitely beautiful! I love this so much... and do not understand the relatively low ratings on this fine image! Link to comment
anne getzieh 0 Posted March 10, 2008 hi tim! it`s a wonderful composition - classical in a way, but because of the light and snow it`s a special picture: inviting and locking out - every riff-raff! ;) i like this shot a lot! regards, anne Link to comment
