Of course my first thought is "ARE YOU CRAZY?" Now that I've calmed down and my vertigo has subsided I would like to say what a fantastic photo this is. This point of view shows the vastness and dizzying height that the climber has already surmounted. Also the harshness of the environment and the precarious icy conditions which make his adventure even more dangerous are apparent in this well exposed, and well photographed image.

Effective mountaineering shot. Not a lot different from many other similar photos of such subjects, but it really communicates both the coldness of the environment and the height up in this cleft.

This is the classic image of mountaineering and you have captured the elements in great style. Height, exposure, cold and difficulty are all contained. Well done!

This shot may be typical but YOU took it and I promise you, I'll never, ever get that chance. Kudos for being there. Double kudos for a wonderfully composed shot with great DOF, color palette and clarity.

Cheers ~

I understand doing sacrifices for excellent photographs like this one, but.... did you really need to go up there for taking a good shot? Regards.

Breathtaking, and I mean it in every way. Excellent shot! My first reaction was to take a deep breath!

Felicitari atat pentru fotografie, cat si pentru escalada! Unde a fost facuta, in Bucegi?

Cat despre nota ... 7/7 ... atat ma lasa sistemul :)

Continue to push yourself. There is so much more to climb, especially with your ability. This shot is amazing. I think the framing, DOF, and the leading rope leading your eye into the scene give it a real visual impact at first look. The longer I look at it, the more it draws me in. Climb Harder, Bigger, and Steeper and please continue to come back home and publish ice climbing art like this one!
