carsten_ranke 0 Posted February 25, 2008 Very nice long exposure, but the sky does not contribute very much, I would crop at leats 50%. Is the rock`s color influenced by the long exposure ? Link to comment
images_in_light_north_west 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Kurt, do you use ND filters ? they work great for long exposures with out having to stop down to far. Link to comment
kurt2006 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Thank you all for your comments. I do struggle with cropping issues but wanted to retain some sky for its difference of blue. I do not yet have any GND filters, but I have been working with a ND filter to increase my exposure times. Even at ISO 100, however, I have to stop way down to get what I want. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted February 27, 2008 This is just really beautiful. I wouldn't change a thing. The detail in the rocks contrasts so nicely with the smoothness of the water and sky, the red in the rock(s) is set against the white and blue-green of the sea, and the sky not only adds a couple of soft colors but perspective/depth as well. The rocks, especially the two red rocks, really jump out of this image. Great light and composition. Absolutely wonderful. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted February 29, 2008 I have to completely agree with Stephen; I wouldn't change a thing with this image. It really is as close to perfection as can be. This is incredibly beautiful and magical. I love the preservation of the runnels of water off of the rocks as the surf breaks over them. Kurt, all of your images are just so progressive; you go places with your concepts that most of us cannot even imagine. Keep it up, my friend; you are an inspirational photographer. Cheers!
