oxymor0n 2 Posted February 23, 2008 I bet it only takes you 5 seconds to have a closer look at this shot and hope it lasts a little bit longer before you forget it :) please also rate and comment, if time allows. thanks, Patrick Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted February 23, 2008 To bed, you didn't closed down the aperture, at list to f/16, would-be better at f/22. And use a tripod. Very good composition. but the lack of DOF is ruin the image. If you have a chance, repeat this shoot. I didn't rate your image. Best regards; Bela Link to comment
marian1 0 Posted February 23, 2008 The lack of DepthofField could compromise this great scenery. It would have been beautiful to see the end of the logs. But good shot! Congrats! 6/6 Link to comment
chrisalmerini 0 Posted February 23, 2008 I love images like this that draw you into the image. Another vote for DOF. I was disappointed when my eyes followed but then blur. Great composition, go back and do it again at say f16 or more f/22 may be ideal. Tripod too to help. Chris Link to comment
oxymor0n 2 Posted February 23, 2008 hello to all, thank you for your honest critique, one the hand your definitely right, it would have been better to stop down the aperture at f/11 or even more. but on the other hand I have to admit, that I wanted the shot to look like this :) I set the aperture intentionally to f/2.8 (which was overkill, I know (now)) because I wanted the DOF to make it look "deeper". the other thing is, I did use a tripod (as can be seen in the details section of this picture) and if this shot doesn't appear to be sharp enough that's either due to PN/jpg compression or a result of the f/2.8. nonetheless, I respect your advice and will try to redo this shot with say f/11 or f/16 as soon as time allows. I hope none of you is objected when I contact you again when I upload the new version :) thank you all for your comments, kind regards, patrick Link to comment
