Sailors' Peril.

Canon 5D 16-35mm 2.8L 5Sec@f22 Lee.9 NDG. One exposure. It doesnt look quite so sinister when you notice the seagull sitting on the rock!

Simon... you have an uncanny ability to be at the right place at the right time. This is fantastic. The ultra sharp foreground with the blur of the wave motion works perfectly together, and then the moody sky and reflection. Another great shot! Mike

Hi

What wonderful textures and mood, I love the cool blue reflected light in the water in the walk way but most of all the warm light hitting the stones, making them irridescent.

Really strong lines in this image, the only thing is that i get taken too quickly to the island and my eye gets stuck a bit on that element when i want to linger on the foreground more. Its only a small pick, I'm still dead impressed with it.

I wonder what a longer exposure would have looked like, it would have simplified the composition more by removing even more of the textures in the sea (maybe to its detriment).

The kind of scene that I live to find. The foreground is remarkable with the texture of growth overlaying the asymmetrical rhythm of the bricks. The small pool of still water really grabs me. This is not to discount the background!
