Thought provoking, the intensity is augmented by the low key lighting. May be it would be even more if there was eye contact, but i like what you've done here.

This is an amazing picture. For whatever reason, it reminds me of Victorian novels such as Jane Eyre. It must be the combination of the somber lighting, the wall paper, and the old portrait. It creates a feeling that the girl is trying to escape from her past. This is a photo you could keep coming back to you and it would take a different meaning each time you viewed it. It is so well done. thanks for sharing it.

Wonderful and charming...great composition, and light. She is doing what we call "sideways eyes", in our house. Love the vintage yet uncontrived mood of this. best wishes, lauren
