I think it would be strong photo even without the color in the eye. Perhaps no color, and a bit darker contrast in the fur, a bit less white on the hand. It is an excellent photo without the eye color, which, in this case is drawing your attention too much to where it would go anyway, naturally.

I like this, I like the idea of it too.

 

I do agree with Art, that the fur needs more contrast. I think if the majority of the image was darkened, without loosing integrity of detail, it would give a very dramatic mood with the coloured eyes.

 

The eyes are beautiful, by the way. But, I wonder if the two central white dots should be cloned out? ... im unsure.

I agree to darken the fur. In my opinion, the colour in the eyes works better if the colour was a little lighter. I feel the colour too strong. Overall a very good image. Congrats.
