mbpixel 0 Posted February 8, 2008 Hi all This was taken in a force 8-9 gale. It was a one second exposure of the water hitting the front railings and running up the concrete. Cheers Mike Link to comment
olve 0 Posted February 8, 2008 "Only" 1 second?!? Wow... This is stunning, with the impression to be aspired! Link to comment
jkilgo 0 Posted February 8, 2008 I like the feel that this image evokes...the B&W tones really make this picture. Great technique, you can really feel the power of the water. Link to comment
andy dippie 0 Posted February 8, 2008 Looks like a difficult shot to capture. Very dramatic in Black and White. Andy... Link to comment
mbpixel 0 Posted February 8, 2008 Thanks for your comments. Yes just a 1 second exposure, I wanted to keep the roughness of the water combined with the movement of the foreground water, as the wave hit the bottom railings and was half way up the concrete, I pressed the shutter. I was using ISO 640 and there is a bit of noise, but I think this again adds more to the image. Cheers again Mike Link to comment
davidclapp 0 Posted February 9, 2008 This is by far the most dynamic seaside shot I have seen in quite some time. Very symphonic, a wonderful slide into the crashing crescendo of the boiling waves. What a shot! You get 3/3 though because a jealous vote is still a genuine vote. "The owner of this photo has rated 1 of your photos with a 7 during the last fourteen days; and you aren't allowed to reciprocate so soon." I cant rate the shot directly, how typical. Amazing isnt it, I can use the "Rate Photos" function and anonomously rate your image (but I cant find it), but if I want to digitally shake your hand and say well done with a 7/7 its against the rules..... for the love of god.
