Pathway to the Peaks

I am have recently been doing alot of back packing skiing and snowshoeing using whatever I can to get to higher elevations. This was taken In British Columbia in the back country. I took some time off work and waited the bad weather for a week before I was able to get my first sunny day this year I saw the S-Curve and knew I could return when the light was better and creating some shadows. I waited for the late afternoon light and got the shadows I was looking for. The only thing I was I could change is the wind was blowing the snow and made some of the middle ground fuzzy. I have chosen to keep the image as I saw with cool tones and remember it as I saw it. Freezing cold ! I took this with my new G9 and I shot it without a tripod or filters. Your efforts paid out well, this is truly sublime! The color cast is very natural.

Breathtaking Kevin!

Thanks for the look...

A great shot taken at an unbelievable beautiful spot. I envision the bottom a little cropped maybe? Because the top is so detailed and the bottom so plain. I think that the difference is too stark. My eyes just keep staring at the far distance, lovely pinks and blues. I'll check out your site.... Very nice picture.

Gorgeous image. I see the foreground softness as a plus, it does not keep the eye down, but leads much more easliy into the mountainscape in the background. Very suggestive icy blue colors.

Lovely shot. S curve is very beautifully places to lead to the peaks. Blue is slightly stronger, but at the end it is wonderful creation.

This is a real beauty of an image. Tone, composition - the lot!

I have a G9, it's really gonna have to pull it's finger out now I've seen what they can do!!

I've been staring at it for a while, I couldn't come out with much to say.....I guess sometimes you have to be content with just looking at something you like, and say nothing at all. Beauty may render you wordless.

Kevin, I love the soft, simple shadowed curve leading to the more detailed background. Shooting in the cold and wind is a challenge you've mastered. Amazing image. Regards.
