graham john miles 0 Posted January 29, 2008 A story unfolds from a simple picture. The tilt of their heads say it all. Excellent study. Link to comment

jmllovera 0 Posted February 10, 2008 Oh! Otra historia detr᳠de una imagen, con muchos niveles de profundidad, realmente... Gracias por tu comentario en "The Meeting in Madrid" (donde ahora veo humildes paralelismos con la tuya) Felicidades. JM Link to comment

John Peri 1,039 Posted February 11, 2008 What an amazing piece of art. You have the remarkable ability that Michael Meneklis has too, though different in style, to take either related or unrelated pieces and give them a totally new meaning by combining them as a whole. It takes a lot of imagination to do that. Whereas the figure standing in the doorway in superfulous, he takes on considerable significance when combined with the other one that we see more clearly in the foreground. In addition, it is done with a profound sense of equilibrium and style. This piece is so well balanced that it has an almost architectural or grahpic element to it's design. The story line and interpretation now is very personal. What flashed instantly through my mind was the pain of a forbidden love story, possibly in some repressive society in which feelings cannot be expressed freely. It is a very touching and moving image, one of the most impressive that I have seen on PN for a long time. Oh dear, the software will not allow me to give 7's. How silly, really. I am well into the age of adulthood. Thank you for sharing this wonderful work with us Carlo. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted May 27, 2008 What I read in this cleverly composed image is a man leaving a woman... Or it could be that she just told him she was going to leave and he went to the door, to get some fresh air and get over his pain. I like images, that tell a wordless but understandable story - like this one does very well here. I tend to like technically very "clean" images, and this one is what I'd call 75% clean, but it doesn't bother me in this case. It might even be better the way it is than it would be with a straight vertical door line, or with her face a bit more visible. It's nice, well seen, and somehow feels authentic. Would love to hear the real story if you care to share it of course. Cheers. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted May 27, 2008 Marc, I like the way you interpret this image, and you are reading in the right way, details are minors, who leave who? Doesn't matter, the end of a dream (love) always is painful and biter.. Before you John gave me his own interpretation, with a different perspective, but with the same protagonist, pains of love. About the technical quality, as you could observe in my collection I am not talented, not so skilled about it, then, knowing my limitations I just try to offer meanings and emotions. Imho, the real sense of photography. Thank you very much for your time and your clever observations. Link to comment
jongaus 0 Posted November 30, 2008 A beautifully composed scene, what is there more to say than already said... Link to comment
Art X Photography 1 Posted July 29, 2009 POWERFUL, PROVOCATIVE .....yet.... PEACEFUL as well. Carlos, you present an image that speaks to the emotions and the realisation that peace can also be had with acceptance of one's fate. Link to comment
trisha jean-angela 5 Posted July 19, 2013 Highly emotive; the pain can be felt just looking at this. The light from the window on her down-turned face and the silhouette of him in the background - his back to her. I think we have all been there at one point or another. Some of us never forget because we never heal. Very sad. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :) Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted July 21, 2013 Thank you for your time and your interesting comment. This shot was composed almost by accident, you know, under certain circumstances suddenly yo see something or someones under a rich play of shadows and light, and immediately the idea breaks out in your mind and you must hurry to shoot with your camera. This is the story of this image, and still amazes me to see that this humble work continues to arouse emotions and old wounds. Thanks a lot. Link to comment
