photis santamouris 23 Posted January 18, 2008 This has been shot on colour negative film, which has now been faded with time and scanned at home.Seeing that I couldn't restore the original colours,I decided to convert into B&W.Then I gave it a try through Highlight and Shadows technique, and after that I did some hand coloration through PS.All these multiple jpeg savings and size conversions had their effect in quality, which is being reduced in every step I make.Anyway,I'll give it one more try if you think it's worth it!Take a look at the original. sonneland 0 Posted January 18, 2008 good morning my friend, from the magical land of Greece. What I find special about this image is that non descript rock this poor boat is resting on. It is part of Crete, and for me that makes it special. Today I go to a dear friends 60th birthday, shall return tomorrow and meet you for a quiet chat and perhaps a bit of lunch on Gavdos. All the best.....roger Link to comment

jeffl7 0 Posted January 19, 2008 My first thought was that of a beached whale. I imagine a dimming red eye and a mouth agape. This calls up feelings of sadness in me, although I like it very, very much. Link to comment

photis santamouris 23 Posted January 19, 2008 This is not posted as a sign of sudden manic depression or a swing in the photographer's mood.A wreckage has always been a favourite subject among many photographers.Besides being a VERY old capture,it can bring reminiscences of wrecked relationships of the distant past. There are maybe some who can wipe the slate clean ,you know better, but it's not the case here.I really hope my next submission will cheer up things a bit!
