dbcooper 0 Posted March 6, 2008 This is just how I see it, but I think there's too much uninteresting sky in the photo. I'd like to see the sky cropped down to just top the right end of the steam plume, which then forces the eye down to the river walk. By the length of the shadows, this was taken early morning or late afternoon, but the 'golden light' was largely missed (or compensated for with auto-WB). Maybe altering the WB to warm up the image would have a positive effect. Lastly, the bridge is much more visually interesting than what's to the left of the three bare trees on the left (including dark shadow)...what's to the left of the 3 trees can be cropped out as well (on a line roughly extending down from the left edge of the building behind the 3 trees). I think the composition is just a bit busy, and more of the river (and interesting reflections) might have been included if it were possible to shoot this from a lower angle, or at least with the camera pointed more downward. I think I see where you're going with this, but the vision gets lost when you try to 'get it all in'. Just my $.02. Link to comment
