JohnMWright 1 Posted January 23, 2008 Nice light and a cute smile. I like the toning. Well done. Link to comment
snapshooter 0 Posted January 26, 2008 Nice shot, Micki. I like the 3D effect you created. I think the lights in the upper right tend to minimize the effect. Tried cloning them out and liked it better but cropping it out was the answer for me. She seemed to just step out at you, and the whites in the upper left and lower right seemed better balanced. All minor stuff, as the young lady in the soft tones is the real charmer. Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted January 26, 2008 Yes I almost cropped it and cloned it too. Wasn't sure what to o. I took this from high above the Hockey Rink (she is one of the dancers). I actually like your crop better now that I look at it. You are so sweet ;) Link to comment
petemillis 0 Posted January 26, 2008 Nice sharp one Micki - and the toning works really well for this. Well caught smile. As for the crop.....well.....I prefer the uncropped version you posted. I like the OOF background, the bokeh of those little reflections on, I guess, the railings. And the fact that the background is light and neutral in tone contrasts well with the deeper tone of the subject and, for me, is therefore not a source of distraction. Instead I feel it provides nice framing and space around the subject. So there :)) Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted January 26, 2008 I was showing her dof and how the camera works. She was taking pictures of me and I was showing her how the camera focuses with the 50mm lens. She has a Nikon 40D and needs to learn more about it so I was showing her a few tricks. She is so naturally gorgeous that I don't think she could ever take a bad pciture. When she smiles something about her eyes just smiles with her. In a sepia tone because of her eyes and hair and of course the lighting in the Hockey Rink it just works. I hope I can catch her up there and a few more of the girls again. :) YEAH! Oh Pete you would LOVE to play in this arena with its lights! Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted February 4, 2008 LOL Take one was too harsh and I got tired of looking at it. Two pictures of the same sort of look (they were different but yet the same). So, I took it down. I guess you should never name something take two. HA Link to comment
