An excellent image with so much to take in: the buildings, the bridge, the sheep, the water, the variety of color. One very small point and it could be my monitor calibration, but the water at the bottom right looks a tad light. It does not take away the enjoyment of this image though. Regards,

If I ever come to Greece and I have enouhg time, I really consider visiting this place. That bridge is so different than the bridges in here and the overall atmoshpere is very inviting. Beautiful and peaceful capture!

A beautiful scene. I particularly like the color palette in this one, which seems to work well to create a sleepy, serene mood.

Being horribly behind,it may be is too late to give some background info on the history of the place.

World War II had already begun in the mountains of Pindos ,back in 1940.

The hostile invasion which started on Oct.28th was finally stopped here in November,right on that bridge you see,where a division of well equipped armed alpinists had reached after sliding for many days on the snowy slopes of steep cliffs during heavy snowfall.Here was the utmost fighting position they had ever reached.

After their defeat,they retreated and finally left the nation's ground.

That wasn't of course the end of the war,because their allies ,which were at the time an unbeatable army,attacked the country from the north,after conquering the Balkans,and The horrible Occupation begun till October 10th 1944.

The name of the village is Vovoussa,in Epirus,for those interested.
