Tony... Great view - I like the light foreground, bands of dark and the grand mountain finale. Good job!

Thanks for the constructive comments - much appreciated. There is a tiny dash of sunlight on the mountain which is appealing to me in addition to the other elements.

Very good landscape. I particularly like the colors and the warm to cool transition that they cause from the bottom of the image to the top. An interesting contrast that adds a bit of visual tension to the image. Also good DOF, reminiscent of some of the Ansel Adams/Edward Weston landscapes.

Thanks for taking the time to make constructive comments. Always appreciated.

This was taken along the Richardson Highway As I started my journey south from Fairbanks to Anchorage. Even though it was Alaskan Fall, for some reasons the mosquitoes were pretty pesky around this area. With camera on my tripod and waiting for 'good' light, I kept having to fight them off. I usally take an insurance shot right away in case conditions get worse and then wait for better light for my 2nd shot. This was the 2nd shot.

Hey - I thought you were taking a break from PN, so I wasn't visiting. So, where is this? Alaska Range? Brooks? Denali NP?

I LOVE the colors ... and this is one of those rare instances that I think an overcast sky worked in your favor. The more I look at this, the more I like it. Nicely done, Tony!

Thanks for stopping by: had a persistent flu and I think I am turning the corner without medication. Would not want to be away for too long. I believe it is the Alaska range.

Hi Tony, this image fills the frame beautifully. It's complex with many layers of texture and nuances of tone. The crisp , stark mountains are a nice counterpoint for the richness of the plains and foothills. The grasses in the foreground give a sense of perspective. Love it !!

We've decided we're east coasters and are moving to Nova Scotia in Oct. A BIG decision. Cheers. Denise

Thanks for your very constructive comment. I think you will love it out there but make sure you are prepared for lots of snow. To counter that, I believe you will have many opportunities for landscape art and photography - including the Cape Breton Cabot Trail. I feel as if I have almost exhausted a close by park I visit on a regular basis and as a result need new scenery.
