Sipapu is a Navajo word meaning 'the place of emergence'. The Navajo believe that life originated from a hole in the earth and thus Sipapu has deep spiritual significance for the Navajos. When I was taking this picture I was thinking about a woman...and the life that originates from within her self. The funny thing is that we usually think of desert as a dead place and there was this dune which suggested there was life within.

Saw this image in the small view and thought it was a bellybutton, but that it was cool how it looked like a landscape, too. Now I like that it's a landscape but it looks like a figure, too.

The dunes / anatomy comparison is wonderful. Now honestly, did you see it in the viewfinder?

I did see it in the viewfinder, I have another picture of the dunes which looks like two bodies lying side by side taken minutes before this one. Sand is sensual in this kind of light.
