mark_q 0 Posted December 30, 2007 Thanks for commenting and rating my night photo. I'm glad I followed your link and found my way to your portfolio and this particular composite. Somehow the thumbnail reminded of photographs by John Pfahl and I love this because this could be a non-composite as well. Don't get me wrong: I might be purist but I acknowledge the art & crafts required to work on composites as such and enjoy them when done with certain care and talent. I love the strict dot line of the berries along the playful curls of the ribbon on the bed of moss. Nothing over-kill, over-the-top here, something to suit my taste inside this genre. I'd love to see more of this series, Julie please? Link to comment
Julie H 312 Posted December 31, 2007 Markku, Your night picture was (is!) excellent. And thank you for your kind remarks on this picture (and I don't mind 'purist' reservations about composites). The Red Line series is quite extensive. You can find all of them at http://www.unrealnature.com/redline_thumbs.htm . I had a lot of fun with the intentionally absurd idea of imposing geometry (the rigid straight line with perfect spacing) onto nature. -Julie Link to comment
mark_q 0 Posted December 31, 2007 I do appreciate you responsing to my comment. Especially the link to your gallery much appreciated. Your way to create series is excellent and I look forward to browse through it later. You might find my personal home page of interest as it contains some graphic design: http://koti.welho.com/msalon19/salonen.html . I'm not totally purist as photographer though, imagine I sold my film gear back in '85 and just last year re-entered photography, so no wonder I stay on the basics still but already now I have this gut feeling, one day I could enter the fascinating world of composites. So, stay tuned - and all the best pixels to you in 2008! ;-) Link to comment
