kellyphillips 0 Posted December 24, 2007 Will, I like this one alot. It has a real feeling of isolation and fear (to me). I don't have a calm feeling when I look at this like some of your other work. The single boat is a real nice touch. The clouds are the main interest for me and help add to the fear. The black water amplifies desperation and fear as well. I'm kind of bothered by what seems to be a halo around the trees on the right. This is minor I think (if it's even there at all.) Great shot! Did you think of leaving the bottom corner of the dock instead of having water touch the bottom of the frame? I'm sure you cut it out for a reason, and I don't feel like it hurts the image in any way. Take care....By the way, I got the 40D!!!! Link to comment
will king 0 Posted December 24, 2007 Thank you all from your comments. Kelly, yeah there is a slight halo around the trees. This is 3 exposures manually blended and the halo is the result of a sloppy blending job. I'm on the fence about the corner of the dock. I guess it wouldn't make that much of a difference to me either way. Congrats on the 40D. You're going to love that body. You really need to get the 50mm f/1.4. It pairs very well with the 40D for portraits. Link to comment

dave.englund 0 Posted December 24, 2007 Wow! Great composition. The outstanding dof makes it work. Who hasn't had that experience of stealing away to the dock before anyone else is up and finding that you are immersed in a work of art! You captured that story with artistry. Link to comment
