Very beautiful photograph. Very formal, yet effective composition. The snow on the branches and fog enhance the image a great deal.

I like this image too since it's full of energy with the branches being the main elements of the image going all directions like venting a caged energy in the trunk. The fog is also a very effective element here simce it has created a mystical occult atmosphere. I don't know what other means by saying composition , for what we know of compoition in its classic sense is how we arrange different pictorial elments to work in unison and it always involves what we call optical movement. Your image has brought economy in elements and doesn't conform with the composition requirements. I don't of course mean that anything that fails to conform is something useless. many photo styles like fine art or abstract defy composition and they do fine since they count on some mental regimes for the photo to take effect. Your image has occured in landscape but most interestingly it doesn't use landscape compostion. It has become some kine of pseudo-abstract landscape which ignores the background all together since the tree is too powerful to let go the viewer's optical movement. The lighting condition you have taken your image in is also a plus. There are numerous light variation on the branches and that has created the 3D sense plus the optical variation we know in good images- from dark to light. of course you have lost some details in one of the branches but in the light of the fact that there are numerous others. This one has also turned into a benefit.
