ronaldwebb 0 Posted December 6, 2007 I like the graphite drawing look of this photograph. I teach H.S. photography and am always looking for new approaches and styles the students can learn/use. If you care to to share your technique, I'd love to hear from you. Would you mind if I copied this image to show my students? -Ron- Link to comment
frenchrl 0 Posted December 6, 2007 Feel free to use for your class. The original image was shot in my studio then converted to b\w with PSE6.I smoothed out the skin some and use PS unsharpen a bit. Then the realtrick to this is the LucisArt plugin. I used the exposure adjustmentfeature to get this look.I used the plugin bw styler to convert it to b\w but I assume any (even PS) b\wconversion feature would work. Link to comment
kirk d 0 Posted December 6, 2007 The clarity and contrast of the jacket is great. I like the highlight and glow you have on his face but I think some of the darkness around his nose and maybe under his lip seems a tad to dark and dirty looking. Maybe for such a young person, the dark areas create to many defining lines. The range of tones from the black shirt and jacket print through the skin and hair to the highlights in the jacket and eyes is really great. Kirk Link to comment
frenchrl 0 Posted December 6, 2007 kirk, thanks for the feedback. I do see what you mean and it's a valid point. I still think this one works. That "dirty" look though is something you have to really work at to hide using this plugin, so far for me anyway. I already created another version, different image, this time in color and smoothed out the skin first. It's on here also. I am anxious to try this out on different types of skin tones and types. Thanks again!! take care. -Rich Link to comment
