WOW David this shot rocks. if i ever visit the US (which i undoubfuly will) then i will take some time and take pics of Motels. i think these are great subjects. This image and the houses also remind me on one of my southamerica images... again: superb image, of highly aesthetical value!

I love the colors because they look like those found in old color photographs from the era when Roy's was built. This photo could have been taken 40 years ago and would look no different. I love it.

Thank you for this image. I get the same feeling from this great photo that I got when traveling Route 66, it was just like being there again. I didn't see this scene, but maybe I will someday.

Thanks a bunch. I too love the starkness and expansiveness. It is kind of the quintessential Route 66 image.

There are so many great photographs in your portfolio that it is hard to choose where to begin. This is a place I had always wanted to photograph for a long time and I finally made it there not long ago. This is a classic image and a standout among others I have seen from this location. The perfect example of reversal of fortune and yet it still stands out as an oasis in the desert. So bright and clean, just waiting for someone to come rolling in.

Wow.  This is not well known to me, but evokes strong memories of similar places (albeit in different landscapes and climes) that I vaguely recall when travelling with my mom and dad throughout the midwest.  You give the scope of the structure, and its surroundings, room to breath.  Nice.
