color 3 Posted November 22, 2007 From the sand dunes in south Colorado, March 2007. Your comments? Link to comment
linelight 0 Posted November 22, 2007 this grabbed my attention and held me intrigued for quite some time. I love the tone and dimensionality of the dunes, and I think I like the composition. There is something about the focus/exposure in the area of the clouds (top left) which strangely flattens the image. There is a lack of 'distance' between the clouds and the horizon which 'terminates' the exploration over the horizon, which would otherwise be an almost compelling invitation... there's something that needs to be different and I can't quite identify it.... hmmm can anyone help? The form in the foreground/mid ground is really excellent. I suspect it would be a stunner printed really large so you could lose yourself in the middle detail. I look forward to other critique of this image... please all... join in. Hope my ponderings are useful. tony. Link to comment
color 3 Posted November 22, 2007 Hey Tony, I read your critique and went back and tweaked the tonal contrast in the clouds to add some 3D-ness to them. How's this? Link to comment
macartney 0 Posted November 22, 2007 Very nice. I thought it was water from the thumbnail before I opened the full size version. I like the version where you tweaked the contrast better. Subtle change to separate the sand and sky. Ya done good! Link to comment
