No crop, true image and *not* using flood filter. Curves and levels, both adjusted minimally, sharpened and used Noise Ninja.

This was an idea that popped into my head while some friends were over

and one had brought Clementine oranges. It was shot fully manualwith

room, incandescent light, a 2 sec shutter, an ?22 and ISO of 1100. .

I'd like to know what you do and don't like about the idea and

composition, and why. Any thoughts about technical aspects are most

welcome, too. Thanks. David

Unique and creative idea. The peel looks like some predatory creature about to pounce on the unsuspecting clemantine. I like that you gave more space above than below the line of reflection. The way the light flows from dark in front and graduates lighter as it travels back leaves me with a land and sky sense to the image. Maybe this is just me relating back to that, stalking prey out in the grasslands, notion that I have stuck in my head. The noise is handled well and and adds to the image, the end result gives a warm and gentle feel to the tones.

An unusual and unique still life. It's got warmth and personality. It's got both quiet and tension. I particularly like the way you have avoided a horizon line. That gives it a flow and a feeling of universality.

One of the more original still life I saw lately. I like the simple arrangement that has so much "peronality", the brown/orange nuances, especially the brown FG and BG are a perfect match to the orange, and the title! I like it a lot! light, exposure. well, a real beauty.

It isn't just you with the stalking idea. I had the same thought as I was setting it up, and wondered if seeing a creature stalking the Clementine was just "shrink think!" Nice to know I'm not the only one! It's really a kick for me to know you like this image, and I always learn from your ability to describe what you see.

Some time, an instant idea is a best idea. It is a simple, and lowly composition, perfect, nice reflection, color and background. One of my artist, painter friend, painting such an images. Bravo, David.

Cheers; Bela
