gnashings 5 Posted November 13, 2007 I am not one of the prop-blurr fanatics, but this... just ruins the image for me. Its not even about degrees of blurr in this case - the prop is completely frozen. This would have been much, much better if the airplane didn`t look like it wasn't moving, seemingly suspended like a museum piece - or perhaps in the final stages of becoming a part of the scenery (God forbid!). dcmodeler 0 Posted November 14, 2007 I quite agree! I used 1/1600 which I thought would help with the high speed left to right and jitter, but it also had the consequence of freezing the prop. I wonder if 1200 would do the trick, or do I have to go down even slower? Link to comment
dickson 0 Posted November 14, 2007 Aris, The lighting on the image is spot on. As the sun hits it, it really contrasts against the background. For the props, as pointed out before, To get the slight blur in the props you will have to shot at a max of 1/400th and pan with the aircraft. For a really nice effect, shot at 1/125th or 1/250th. I realize that these shots are difficult, so practice is essential. Even still the pros don't get them right every time. When you do get one right, the rewards are worth it. Happy shooting.
