A thunderhead is refelcted in a lake as it forms east of Independence Pass in Colorado Thursday at sunset July 11, 2002.

Saw the storm forming and needed a clean reflection. I saw this little pool of water and got close to the water.

neat..! here's where I wonder what a grad ND filter would do? I don't have one but I'm thinking about it just for such scenes. What if you could nearly match the top and bottom? It already looks a bit surreal, with the Grad ND, I think it would be "wow!".

A gradiated Neutral Density filter at 1 stop would've brought the highlights in the top clouds down enough to add some great detail. I think I'll get me one of them there filters!

Driving through the pass one day during a red sunset and spotted this

cloud forming. I found a small, very small, pond and worked the scene.

Finally, after the winds began deforming the cloud, caught this image.

I got low to the water which also obstructed the road and passing cars.
