The facial tone of the subject is the almost the same as the background's and appears flat in the overall image. I feel the facial tone should be lighter and, for your comparison, have toyed with that aspect in the attachment. Also, The "staredown" glare of the subject is intimidating. I almost expect him to show his Dracula personna. An aloof,detached look with eyes off the camera would be interesting as well, and probably less intimidating. Could this have been a stage personna?
