victor_rotariu 0 Posted November 8, 2007 Great colors and light, but the really interesting thing is how it seems to warp to the center of the frame. Is this an optical illusion, lens distorsion or processing effect? Anyway it makes the shot really interesting, my eyes wander all over the place trying to see details that would help me discover what's in the center. Best regards, Victor Link to comment
cathy hennessy 0 Posted November 8, 2007 I love it. Great depth of field, captivating focal point. where is this, I want to go... Nice shot! Link to comment
josephboone 0 Posted November 8, 2007 Thank you both for the kind words. This was shot in Glacier National Park in Montana. More specifically it is the St. Mary Valley. Ramon, the wrap-around effect is not due to any lens aberration. I suppose you could call it an optical illusion of sorts. I was positioned just about dead-center of the valley and the mountains on both the left and right were angled toward me in a "U" pattern. I did try using a wider angle lens which added to the effect but did not provide a more pleasing image so I have not posted any of those on photo.net. Link to comment
victor_rotariu 0 Posted November 8, 2007 Thx for the details, much appreciated. But why did u call me Ramon? Link to comment
josephboone 0 Posted November 8, 2007 Wow, my apologies Victor. That's really weird... in the few seconds it took for me to look at your name and then type it into my reply, some corner of my brain apparently decided to substitute an entirely different one. I have no clue why or how. Anyway, my apologies again and I really appreciate that you took the time to comment on my photo. Link to comment
victor_rotariu 0 Posted November 10, 2007 No problem, no offence taken. I'm a psychology student and i was curious how did u perceive the process of substituting my name with another. Cheers. Victor Link to comment
