yves_p 0 Posted October 27, 2007 Very good shot. Excellent vertical composition. I like the diagonals in the sun rays, the waterfall and the rocks and the contrasts between light and darkness. Link to comment
jo7hs2 0 Posted October 28, 2007 I like this image substantially more than the other one that you posted. The vertical perspective and less agressive crop/zoom greatly enhances the scene, brings the larger portion waterfall into the picture, and makes the tree look much more real. Probably because I can make out more of the moss from this angle. I also am able to better see that there is a tree growing on the cliffside. The light rays in this image are more "spotlightish" and I think I like that effect more than the more fan-like rays in the other image. The only real criticism I have is that the lower 1/4 of the image feels a little off. I'm not sure if it is the bush, the rocks, or the unlevel horizon, but something about it bothers me. I recognize the difficultly of getting this shot, so I'm not all that concerned with it. Also, this image is listed as unmanipulated, did you not use HDR on the rock wall in this one? If so, excellent work on the exposure on this one. In light of the creativity of the shot, the composition and color, and the uniqueness of the lighting on the tree, I rate this image 6/7. If another shot similar to this one existed, or if this one could be cropped to remove the perceived busyness of the bottom of the image, it would hit 7/7. This looks like an location where somebody with a t/s lens could have some fun! 6/7 Link to comment
