Dried seed pod

A few weeks ago I bought a Canon G9. I love this camera! I also bought a 58mm lens/filter adapter and some cheap close up lenses. This seed pod was shot with the +2 filter and the lens set to ~118mm 35mm equivalent. I used Photoshop Camera RAW to vignette the corners and PS CS3 to convert it to BW, adjust the exposure, etc. The BW conversion was via the BW conversion layer tool.

I've been learning my way around my new Canon G9. Part of that

learning is the use of close-up lenses for macro work. I ran across

this seed pod on a dead plant and thought it made a good subject to

learn on. This was my second shot with the G9 and a +2 close-up lens.

Great photo, the background is very good. Feeling of dried is perfect because of tone.
