I love this image. As everyone has remarked, the shadow of the girl (your daughter?) is way cool and seems to have a life of its own. I love this image just the way it is, and I know I'll be pilloried for saying this, but I like the image more with a tighter crop, emphasizing the elements of the girl and her dynamic shadow. I took a piece of paper and placed it just from the left of the tree trunk, and another that came down just below the top of the wall, and found it more dramatic. I know that is not your vision, so do not be angry with me for my thoughts.

Thanks Jack, Ruud, Linda, Matthias and David for your thoughts and comments....

David, you're being too cautious, you know how I appreciate comments that give a personal opinion (positive and negative)...so thanks for that...yes it's my daughter, we had a late afternoon sunday stroll together, passing by the wall I saw that the light and shadow were interesting (at least to me) and asked her to pass by several times...I played with tighter cropping before posting but was never satisfied so I decided for a full frame uncropped version...

Laurent, this I very fine-looking, artistic work . Beautiful child with perfect shadows as well . I admired the image before and forgot to mark it as I enjoyed it very much for its quality and perfect composition .6/7. Best regards

Really nice, and could go into a presentation with your last 2 uploads, if it were modified to be "small creatures" :) Anyway, this is a very interesting and original shot, and very well laid-out with the tree shadow, etc.. Bravo!!!

Very nice again Laurent, this is the kind I connect too.interesting is how the tree and its shadow are "framing" the girl. Well observed as well

Yessss! Great! ( i guess it is the perfet execution of thirds that make this shot a big hit... like so many oh man, unbelievable how powerful this still is!)

Really superb shadow play. Excellently framed and timed. I would consider cropping the top of the wall out and simplify the composition even more. Love it.
