ewert02 0 Posted October 4, 2007 Beautiful scene, Zach. The vivid colors in the sky that reflect off of the water are quite nice. Good work. Link to comment
ajsellaroli 0 Posted October 4, 2007 Absolutely Amazing - could you tell me what you did in photoshop to change it? it looks great Link to comment
zackschnepf 0 Posted October 4, 2007 This is a blend of 3 exposures hand blended in PSCS3. Although, the most important part of this image is the light that was there, I've never seen anything like it. It was quite a sight to behold. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted October 4, 2007 Hey Zack. I find this image truly awesome. The sky is obvious, but I am guessing a very tricky exposure given the wide range between the fore and back. Some juvenile rated a 3/4 and should behave like a grown-up. This is one of the finer images I have seen in awhile and being envious is OK, but throwing tomatoes at something this good is truly low. Please share with us where this is and if those are western larches along the banks. Thanks for this beauty!! Link to comment
zackschnepf 0 Posted October 4, 2007 Thanks all. Mark, this is the Enchantments in Washington state, and those are western larches. What an amazing area, and even more amazing that I got spectacular light to go with it. The 3/4 seem totally ridiculous to me, I can understand that this may not be someone's cup of tea, but in my opinion this is the finest work of art I've ever produced, and I think most people would at least realize how rare something like this is to witness, and how hard it was to pull off. It probably is just someone abusing the system though, probably didn't even look at the photo, just trying to bring everyone else down in a pathetic attempt to raise their own sub standard work. rajeevthomas 1 Posted October 5, 2007 Zack...great job here!! One of your best ever I think. I love the place...the trees look like they are one fire and of course the heavens are on fire too...beautiful job...your exposure is beautifully done... 7/7 from me.... and the 3/4 !!!! shows that how the rating system here is abused, regards, Rajeev. 7/7 Link to comment
natureabound 0 Posted October 5, 2007 What a beautiful shot absolutely breath taking I can only imagine what it was like to be there at that moment. This type of art work is what I strive to produce someday. Thanks for the inspiration!!! 7/7 Link to comment
will king 0 Posted October 5, 2007 Zack, Photographers only dream of scenes like this to be able to capture and you've done it well. Did you change the white balance at all in post processing or did the sensor pick up these rich warm colors? Link to comment
enunez 0 Posted October 5, 2007 Zack, I agreed with you. This is the best I've seen from you, and maybe from anybody else. And that's a lot because you consistently produce amazing photos. Excellent. Link to comment
xavi asensio 0 Posted October 19, 2007 hellow Zack I'm only can say FANTASTIC. I'm taking photographies since 1987 and I'm only 39 years old but I allways trying to find this kind of colours with the superb film Ektachrome and my old analogic camera. Now with the technics in photoshop and a good camera, if you can take the sence of the light then you can finally get this perfect saturation.Congratulations this is one of the most beautifull pictures I never seen.
