A Rat's View (Climbing a' Board)

smhickel

The perspective here allows one to view the ship as though a rat was climbing the line. It also alows for a great view of the line (close up) and a broader angle of the ship.

Nice perspective, but I'd prefer a straigt horizon and it looks a bit overexposed. A polarizer might also add a bit to the picture.

My War Ship series has several angles of this ship (FFG 22). Some have

commented that the horizon should be horizontal. Others have said they

though the horizon worked here. The angle, imo, works here because it

allows more of the line to be in the picture. I also imagine that this

is what a rat would see after breeching the rat guard that is just on

the outside of this photo. What do you think?

Because the subject oh the photo is not the ship, but rather the ropes, I wouldn't worry that the shot isn't level with the horizon. I would agree that your exposure is off by a bit, but the composition is pretty cool!

I don't think the horizon needs to be straight in this shot.. if anything it should be a bit more tilted, since the rope is in emphasis here.

I like it! Burn in the sky on the left side a little more - but otherwise, very cool angle and perspective - unusual and creative!

Dramtic though cliched presentation. A polarizing filter would help make the sky more punchy. I have feeling that your exposure meter got skyed out. and so underexposed the main subject.

Leave this one as it is. Us humans seem to be forgeting that rats are not so accustomed to bright sun-light and therefor this is probably how it would appear to those pesky critters. From the rat's point of view, that looks like an awful long climb.
