great texture and subtle color. the dragonfly is a huge bonus to those that look close. however the the power lines distract in my opinion(especially the big one), being the same tonal value as the fly.

Funny, I didn't even notice the dragonfly until I read the above comment. Great sign, graphically shot. I don't particularly care for the little dip in the wire at the top but what can you do. Only God is perfect.

Most excellent. I love the faded color of the street signs. The dragonfly is a nice touch, but is so small that it cannot add much to the overall image. What I do find really attractive is the parallelism of the wires and the sign. A perfect placement. I agree with Jack about the curve, but I don't think it is that fatal. I am not for a minute suggesting it would be better, but I keep trying to visualize this with a bright blue sky and a puffy cloud or two. I honestly don't know if I would like that or not. At any rate, a fine image. Bravo

I Love it, Linda. I think the grey sky is a perfect match for the faded green and grey of the signs, which create a cohesive ensemble. Like David, I think the dragonfly may be too small to be significant, though it is a nice touch. I usually dislike manipulating images, but I think I would have cloned out that curved dip in the wires to get the perfect parallelism.

I think the dragonfly is great, too! But the mathematician in me especially loves that the wires are parallel to the Cypress Street sign!

I like the faded green so much Linda...I usually mostly agree with Jack, David and Laurent, this time not....for me the Dragonfly and the curvy line are both wonderful details that lift the image to new heights, besides the curvy line points to the dragonfly so they go together for me...ok it's a nice sign image without them and prefect straights...but it's a real life image with a wonderful dragonfly coincidence...put the line straight and remove the dragonfly and it becomes an image everybody can do almost anytime...little surprise and imperfections are what makes an image your thing and special of that particular time...try to do it again with the dragon fly just to see ....:-)....

For me the dragon fly how little it is, once the eye discovers it, becomes the star of the image if you look at the image for more than 10 sec...

Just to illustrate what I mean, look at image no 44 of this portofolio....
