gnashings 5 Posted September 21, 2007 Kerstin, I have to be honest - I am not really crazy about this image. I am not sure if you tilted the "horizon" on purpose to impart a sense of movement(?), but to me it does not work and just looks like sloppy composition - which leads me to my next point. The background is incredibly cluttered and busy and almost as sharp as the main subject. I know (believe me, I know!) what a pain it is to photograph airplanes for reasons other than documentation within the confines of a museum - or even most modern airshows. There simply isn`t enough room, there are too many intrusions, but at the very least, I would suggest a shallower depth of field so that the background is not so intrusive. I hope you don`t take this comment the wrong way, it is meant to be constructive and I hope it is helpful and not hurtful. Cheers, Peter. Link to comment
alex_kew 0 Posted September 21, 2007 I find myself focussing more on the architecture of the building than what is supposedly the main subject, which for me, considering my love of aeroplanes, is rather unusual! Overall, it's quite nice to look at, as there's lots of engineering in the whole image. Again, that's another thing I love! I have to give credit to the non-centred positioning of the prop/engine, but there's too much depth of field to really draw attention to it. Regards, Alex. Link to comment
