guillelobera 0 Posted September 13, 2007 Here is a Unionist/Loyalist Mural celebrating the Oliver Cromwell's men moving into Ireland. They massacred Irish Catholics in an effort to conquer the Island. You can read in the left hand text panel: "Catholicism is more than a religion. It is a Political Power therefore I'm led to believe there will be no peace in Ireland until the Catholic Church is Crushed", in the right hand text panel: "Our Clergy persecuted and our protestant churches desecrated also our protestant people slaughtered in their thousands" and surrounding the portrait of Cromwell: "Lieutenant General Lord Protector of the Protestant Faith". gp1664880838 0 Posted September 13, 2007 We have seen this graffiti last holidays. The whole Belfast looked depressing for us. May be because of these wall paintings and their surroundings. Long lasting hatred can be seen everywhere. Very sad... Link to comment
