I am reassured that one day my camera will be able to capture something so beautiful (when I learn to use it of course). What lens did you use for this, the eye detail is just amazing

Thanks All for the comments.

Sasha: I used a Tamron SP 90mm/2.8 1:1 Macro. I find on auto focus it hunts all the time for focus but on manual focus it is much better.

Ger, this is fantastic. I love the clarity in the eyes and the calm expression. The tight crop is great. Amazing shot! Regards, O

Beautiful image with very effective lighting. Made by the perfect eye reflections and the porcelain-like skin tones. The hair is also very well handled.

Crisp, clean, flawless ~ everything about it. It doesn't even look like you touched the picture at all. I am looking for an area you even worked on and I don't see anything. I am sure you wanted to have more of the face but oh well. WOW You are getting so god with these eyes and this softness (a trademark for you).

I know you have a GREAT model but THIS is probably one of your BEST pictures o her yet. I keep waitin for her to turn her eyes towards me.

YEAH! wonderful! ;)~ micki

Sergei, Oliver and Roger...Thanks

Micki..thank you very much. I took about 12 shots and liked them all which I was delighted about. She took one of me and if I like the post processing I have in mind I'll post it.

I just focused on the eyes in this one. Wanted the face but wanted those eyes to just grab you, so your comments delighted me...

I've got to the point now where I just want to shoot, shoot shoot..

Have some planned for tonight, lets hope the model is in the mood...

Now this is a truly amazing shot! Apart from the perfect tones, excellent detail, lighting and focusing, the composition is simply superb. Simply awesome!

Ger, this has to go on your website...parents will flock to you when they see those eyes...Alana is beautiful, anyway, but you've shown off her beauty in a stunning way. If I had to find a nit on this one, the only thing I can come up with is maybe leaving a tiny more room below her mouth, but that's really being very picky. I truly love this! Wait 'til Darren sees those eyes!

Beautiful job Ger - Her eyes are perfect and great job with the manual focus. The detail in her left eyelashes are amazing. Congratulations on a keepsake photo of your daugther.

We all could have our camera's and you could show me how to use my new one. My hubby could learn how to COOK some great FOOD and I could finally see Ireland and Scottland. YEAH! Hubby has been there but I was stuck in Germany with the kiddo's when they were young.

Back then it was all about the golfing for the hubby (not fair) HA!!

My daughter would LOVE getting her camera on your daughter also!! Boy they would have fun taking pictures of each other.

Can't wait to see what she did of you!

Ger,

What an incredible image! I have seen this shot done before, but seldom have I seen it done so well.

Nothing to critique; it is all (subject, lighting, composition, skin tones, and DoF) dead on, and a solid 7/6 from me.

I came back to rate this (something I don't do very often any more) but I felt it deserves to make it into the TOP Photo's.

I just read through all the comments... Lesslie... LOL!!! Am I that transparent!?!?! LOL!

I really can't get over what a great job you have done, and the fact that you used manual focus makes it even more breath taking.

I'm looking forward to hearing Freds comments on this one.

Keep the soft box out of the box room... I love mine, those highlights can't be beat!
