I have not seen any of your photos for a long time. It seems you are in my part of the world and isn't it just beautiful? As for this bird - 'many mouths to feed' I presume! Lovely photo, just a shame about the vegetation in the foreground nevertheless it's a 6/6 from me. Taha

Thanks for your comment Taha. In fact I have to admit that this is a photo from earlier in the summer. Won't be back to Wales for a month or so!

 

As for the vegetation, I was quite pleased with it, as I thought it gave the photo a bit of softness in contrast to the bird, without hiding anything crucial. Oh well!

The out of focus foreground in the lower left corner doesn't bother me at all; it gives the Horned Puffin a feeling of being safely enclosed.

The out of focus vegetation is definitely a plus for me. It helps with the composition of this close crop. Nicely done. I'm a big fan of puffins and have had the pleasure of shooting them off the coast of Maine.

I also like the foreground. If you imagine the photo without it, it would look a bit flat. This is a great shot and one to be proud of. Well done.
