rob wray 0 Posted August 29, 2007 A very nice capture, with great detail in the picture. I take it this was due to the ND x 4 filter you had that allowed you to use a slow shutter speed to capture the movement in the sea and clouds? It almost looks like a HDR image with so much detail included throughout the image. Well it is an image that caught my eye. Kind regards Rob Link to comment
paolo de faveri 1 Posted August 29, 2007 Thank you all for your kind comments. I understand why this picture could let someone think of and HDR, but that's not. Indeed the dynamic range of this picture is not more than 4 stops. The sky was overcast and this produced a perfectly diffused light all over the frame. In PS I've only increased a bit contrast and saturation. Thanks again, Paolo Link to comment

sean_pike 0 Posted January 27, 2008 That is an amazing picture! do you mind me asking how long you opened the shutter for? it may seem like a stupid question but im new to photography. once again, Amazing Link to comment
paolo de faveri 1 Posted January 27, 2008 Thank you all for commenting, I really appreciate that. Sean, of course asking is never stupid... :-) exposure time was 20 seconds, obtained by filtering the scene with a polarizer (2 stops) and 5 more stops down with neutral density filters. Cheers, Paolo Link to comment

kathryn 0 Posted January 28, 2008 I like the show shutter speed blurring the water and air leaving the land crystal clear. Great work! Link to comment
robertmorlan 0 Posted January 28, 2008 Great looking shot. Colors really look nice together and the blur of the water makes the shot for me. Robert Link to comment
flora_chen 0 Posted April 11, 2008 Dear Sir, This is Flora from Taiwan. I'm writing a book of Monet's painting and trying to explain his point of view. Your photo is perfect to compare with Monet's painting. I wonder if you would grant me to use your photo in my new book. I will indicate the name of photographer, of course. However I may need a larger photo ( high resolution) for printing use. My E-mail address is: dtmmflora@yahoo.com.tw I would highly appreciate if you would lend me the photo. When the book is published (but it is in Chinese), I am glad to send one volume to your as exchange. Looking forward to hearing from you. With best regards Have a nice weekend! Flora Link to comment
