frankz

Tabletop 8x10 shot. Saw this on a magazine cover (Camera Arts, Jan 1983) and wanted to try it.

My first real attempt to duplicate a magazine cover shot (Camera

Arts, January 1983) that impressed me for it's simplicity. Used black

and white film as it's all I have in the house at the moment.

Techs - Sinar P 8x10, Rodenstock 485mm Ronar, Speedotron @ 1200 w/s,

Ilford Delta 100 Pro, HC-110 Dilution 'G', Epson 4990 scanner.

came out very good! i havent seen the original photo you are talking about, but the one you have done is amazing. i have noticed some of the ratings you have received, some people here just rate according to their mood, nothing to do with what they are looking at... its crazy... one question about the photo, how did you manage to get the shot with out any reflections on the glasses? - shot in a box or cleaned on PS? 7/6 in my books (and PN now as well). thank you, zohar

@Zohar: No cleanup, other than removal of the standard monkey bumps expected with B&W film. NO front lighting at all - that explains the lack of reflections - and a couple black cards on either side to give the glasses something to "see". Pretty much an "as-is" shot.
