lex_photo 0 Posted August 17, 2007 This is great, it truly captures your fun attitude. What did you use to make it? I'm trying to decide on a photo software program to get, what do you suggest? Right now I have aperture which does the basics, but I think I need something more. Thanks for your advice, and again great picture!!! -Lex Link to comment
brianpsullivan 0 Posted August 19, 2007 Thanks for looking. I was going for a rotoscoped look. Let me know what your think. Link to comment
brianpsullivan 0 Posted August 19, 2007 Thanks. I used the GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). It's similar to photoshop but free and opensource. As a poor student, I recommend it highly. It's available for Mac, PC, and Linux/Unix. I created a transparent layer over the image and traced the blacks then created other layers for each color. You can download the GIMP from http://www.gimp.org. Link to comment
brianpsullivan 0 Posted August 20, 2007 Thanks,Tony, Dirk, and Daily. Tony, the eyedropper made many of the color choices, but I exaggerated some of them. Link to comment
hy 0 Posted August 20, 2007 Very nice. Original technique, reminds me of "A Scanner Darkly" ;) Best regards Link to comment
brianpsullivan 0 Posted August 20, 2007 Thanks for your kind comment. "A Scanner Darkly" was the inspiration for this manipulation. I can't imagine doing a whole movie based on how long it too to digitally rotoscope just one static image, but they had some pretty good algorithms I imagine. Link to comment
