mary_corning 0 Posted August 15, 2007 Touching the sky.... I look forward to your comments. I suppose I submit, somewhat technically controversial photos because the same picture that brings a 6/6 can bring a 3/3. Please comment if you feel it is below average and help me to learn why? This is a great forum, and I really appreciate all thoughts, and the time it takes to write. Thank you so much. ~Mary~ Link to comment
kirk d 0 Posted August 28, 2007 This is a good idea with the long haired man; I would be more convinced he was a medicine man without the watch but some may like the modern adaptation of a medicine man. I like that it looks like he is touching the sky so I don't know if my comment to emphasize the highlights to give the image more depth will effect that or not. I would try selectively lightening some of the highlights in the sky and his hair and barret and maybe the sides of his arms facing inward. I would take a shot at it but I've got pics of my own that need work; and only you can say whether you are presenting what you want. Nice start on a portfolio. Kirk Link to comment
mary_corning 0 Posted September 5, 2007 Your comments are greatly appreciated and very welcome. Yes medicine comes in many forms. I know this man deeply (as he is my partner). I can safely say he is what true healing and medicine bring. And with this is recognized in the Lakota tradition. technically I appreciate your eye and would like to play around with it too. This was a spontaneous shot in a moment when we were up on Wild horse Mesa. from my vantage point it did seem as he touched the sky. I was glad my camera was near so that I was able to share the moment with others. Thanks so much for your time and words of encouragement, it really means a lot. Most sincerely, ~Mary~ PS I'll drop by and have a look at your portfolio. : ) Link to comment
