Very good portrait, but unfortunately not in focus.

I agree with the prior comment.. This is a good photo and it may be one of those you wish you could go back and do over and get a little tighter focus. But otherwise one of my favorites I did try to sharpen via Photomagic a Photoshop plug in and helped a lot. I'll see if I can get your email and send it to you to see what you think. BUT great shot otherwise. It's one that tells you something about the subject. 6/5

Dear AS de Beer: I think this is one of your best photos yet. It captures something of this man's soul. Technically this is a difficult photo, as the man's face is in the shade. If the man's face were lit - this could have been a 7/7 photo- but that only happens one in a million! To give this photo more of a WHOOW effect - one would try and highlight his face with PS so that his face and especially the eyes stand out and the clothing fades as the background. Great catch though ......

Hi Arnold, Yes, you are right, but then: the man lives on the dark side of poverty and endless misery. So he is staring out of the shadows. But, I understand from previous comments that another De Beer does PS-touch ups at ZAR 50 cents a shot. What is your tarif?
