nichroe 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Sorry Folks, we were interrupted yesterday by some inferior hack-down- adjustments from 15-7 ratings ! Please "TRY-RATE" one more time, Just for PN-FUN,,,Comon 3/3-6/6, it doesnt matter what you rate anyhow, PN knows what`s best for all of us, but have a good try ;)) re niels Link to comment
petemillis 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Niels, this is a nicely composed and coloured shot. Good work! Link to comment
petemillis 0 Posted July 28, 2007 by the way, I had same happen to one of my pictures yesterday - had a really positive comment and a high rating from someone has been on PN since 2002, then the rating and others disappeared! Link to comment
nichroe 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Hi Pete thanks for comments,,actually I dont know whats going on,,off PN :) But all 4 shots of mine yesterday were suddenly hack-down from about 17 ratings to about 6, if it`s a hacker PN really has a problem, and if its PN, then they have to give some explanation for interrupting suddenly while the ratings going on,, re niels Link to comment
mcclure 0 Posted April 19, 2008 Hi, another amazing approach! Are you shooting film or with a digital camera? The highlight loss was intentional or a byproduct of digital? If it's digital - put it in a drawer and go back to film. Your perception is simply too good to waste on poor equipment!!! Best, john Link to comment
nichroe 0 Posted April 19, 2008 Now what,,you like, they like, I like it,,,i do say what i want to say,, cant print better than less than this,,dias ok, but U have to go to dig to print or to go PN,,Canon f1 prints have to wait to,, i`m getting to old dig,,,in the archives:) Link to comment
mcclure 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Don't get pissed at me it was an honest question : )Are you using Digital equipment that limits your statement to shadows or highlights or was the highlight loss intentional? It's ok to be curious?Best, john Link to comment
nichroe 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Sorry John,,,I`m so glad that you have time to look at my folders,,,and your comments are so kind and helpful to me,,,so please continue,,i prefere your honesty,,,best niels,,ps my knowledge to write in English is poor and insufficient,,,work hard to improve it,,;) Actually I have a Hasselblad 500 C/M,,to make a B/W portrait shot to support the paintings,, havent used it the last 15 years ! mcclure 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Thanks Niels and your English is great. This is an extremely difficult shot due to the lighting. I'm not a big fan of digital equipment so I opt for film instead but I've been told that there's a great trick with digital if you want to hold extreme lighting conditions like this one. They apparently take 2 exposures using a tripod - one exposure for the highlights and the other for the shadow detail. They then combine the 2 in Photoshop. To a certain extent, a fun play on your TIMETWICE approach : )I thought I'd mention it in case you were unaware of the trick. This capture would be even more difficult with film so take my comments with a grain of salt.Best, john Link to comment
nichroe 0 Posted April 20, 2008 I havent considered that possibility,,now i know till next time,,my Nikon D40 was a hard marriage,, in the start,,,but she`s so smart,,,i have to drop the automatics more and more,,then it`s just like the good old F1 days,,,the 1G memory-flash-card same price as a 36 dias film,,and ?s proof for a Tsunami !! not because im waiting for the next flod,,,re niels Link to comment
brano_k 0 Posted July 28, 2010 Bold and brave framing, and...it works, perfectly! And the second flower, in the background, gives so much rhytm to this photo. Is there a third one, lurking behind the wall? Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
