Nice shot Sky! I like your new bio shot.

I have taken two million shots of these little things, they are so interesting to watch.

Hi Janis. Thanks and at least that bio pic didn't crack my lens. I know what you mean about taking lots of photos of these little guys. They are rather addictive when there are plenty to watch. I'm tickled that I broke down and put up a feeder. I hadn't realized so many were in the area. I guess that perfect hummingbird shot is still out there in the future for me so I will keep on snapping more. You'll have to post some of yours unless you already have and I missed them. On dial-up I don't often have the opportunity to review entire portfolios. Have a nice weekend. ~Sky

This is gorgeous, Sky. I, too, like the blue sky as the background for this little hummingbird.

I'm with Janis, love the new bio picture. :) You need to start taking more sp's!!!

Thanks Tammy; I wish I had gotten a better focus.

In addition, I'm blushing and honestly, I think of the sp's but can never bring myself to follow through. I think it takes a certain day or certain feeling or something...

I wasn't that happy with these under the hummingbird feeder but I will try for more after the encouragement. (I find myself smiling.) ~Sky

Sky Blue's blue sky really works in this. Can't wait to see your "perfect" humming bird. Until you find it, this one will do. I agree about your autobio, just that your ending sounded like a farewell.......which would be really bad.

I am old enough to ask questions that at one time would have embarrass me-what is "sp" other than an abreviation for spelling?

Hi Margaret, Thank you very much. I appreciate that.

As for the "sp", it's self-portrait; however, I'm sure it could mean many things to many folks. I'm sure it's more appropriate for spelling. With the wording at the end of my bio, "So long", it's more to address the worldwide aspect of Photo.net and I felt that most people would only see it once. I wanted to provide them with a genuine Texas goodbye. For us it's a goodbye for the end of the day or the end of a trip. It certainly isn't a permanent departure even if heaven is the next meeting place. Glad you stopped by. So long, 'til we visit again. ~Sky

I love this one! We have hummers that take "showers" in the sprinklers every morning...as the sprinkler turns, the bird moves with it (slow sprinklers!), just hovering in the fine spray at the edges. They keep this up for quite a while every morning. And why haven't I taken any photos of this sight?....hmm, good question...haven't had enough coffee yet, I guess.

Great new bio photo, except....I only see one bottle...?

Hi Kim, Oops, how is it that the extra bottle keeps falling out of the frame. I didn't even know these guys could fly in water but I watched a mess of 'em the other day just zippin' all over the place in a rainstorm. They didn't even seem to have trouble doing it. A misconception from childhood I guess. Glad you stopped by. Hope things are going well there in Utah. Sad for the fires and the mine collapeses, rough Summer. Hope the mountain is in good shape. Take care. Don't tell Susan you missed those unusual hummingbird photos, she will scold you in front of everyone. Have a good evening. ~Sky

I'm on my way home from Montana. Susan and Shawn and I had a wonderful time wandering in old junk for 3 days. How I love those wide open spaces!
