...but these types of shots are often what people want. In my opinion, the key is to find a way to do it differently. How about spraying the rose with a little water? The drops might look nice and help tone down the contrast between the soft rose and hard metal. Do you play with Photoshop? If you do, what about making it so that the peddles come out past the frame? What I like the least about this is that I'm just looking at a rose and two rings...that's it. It's too blunt. How about a little greenery or baby's breath to give the eyes a bit more to see? I know...talk about cliche...but it helps liven up the picture. Just my thoughts. Hope they help! BTW, before you upload, change your photo size to 800 pixels in the longest direction and your resolution to 72. People do steal photos from these types of sites.

I definitely agree with the comment above. Instead of using water though try a mixture of glycerin and water. The professionals use this because it won't evaporate or dry up. Also make sure the rings look real nice, just don't pile them up, really play with the look of them. Another idea, might be playing with the colors in PS, e.g. using B & W with a gradual fade back into color, or just using splashes of color throughout the image to add more image flow. I also agree that the image might look better with other accents like baby's breath. Yes, no matter what is done it will still be cliche, but it is what the customer likes.

Great tip with the glycerin and water mix! I had heard of that a long time ago and completely forgot about it. Thanks!

Pay closer attention to your DOF as well. The rings and flower petals should be tack sharp OR petals out of focus and rings in sharp focus. This could be accomplished with an "on camera" filter or in PS.
