Please be honest... I'll take any critique that will help me improve

I like this image very much. Since the phot has been improved with software, I am wondering why you did not remove the black bit in the sky directly behind the gull on the post- its distracting and looks a bit like a smal computer pointer triangle. Also, the black bit on the front of the log itself is a bit distracting.

 

Otherwise, great compostion and colors:)

I guess you are right. I noticed the black triangle, but I figured it is a tip of the wing, so I decided to leave it there. Although I guess you're right it is too disturbing. I did not pay attention to the pole, but now when you told me... :) Thanks for advice.

The whites look to be a bit overexposed, especially

on the gull on the post. Might try toning them down a bit.
