Thanks very much Jeffery, I appreciate your comment and see that you make a good point. I've attached a frameless sample. Thanks again. ~Sky

Thanks very much. I always want this frame to work, yet it never does. I believe I must like the way it isolates the subject. I may have to surrender to the frameless version. I see how it can be distracting in a small format. Hope you are having a fine Summer. Glad for your visit. ~Sky

Didn't expect to see one feeding from such a prickly flower! Fast and accurate! This is a really great shot, Sky. I just bought some Salvia plants to set out next to the feeder - hoping it will entice more to visit. Did you happen to get more shots of this little guy?

This one you inspired. I do have some more pictures of these wonderful creatures. You will not believe the cost of the photos; no, I didn't break my camera or lens or anything like that. It was more along the lines of over a hundred chigger bites, (if you know what those are)and half again as many mosquito bites and all that even with heavy-duty repellant...

It was worth it though and I enjoyed my day in the tall grass and cacti. I missed some beautiful shots so I must work on my technique and get some stronger repellent of course. So what do you think, lose the frame or keep it? Your vivid and crisp hummingbirds, truly inspired me to try for this shot. Hope you and family are enjoying a fine Summer.

Sincerely,

~Sky

I appreciate that Alberto and it means a lot to hear, or rather see. Hope things are great where you are. Glad you stopped by. ~Sky

You're indeed brave to face those mean old chiggers and mosquitos. Hope you had lots of Benadryl on hand!! :) It was definitely worth the shot though - especially getting one feeding from a cactus flower.

I think I must agree with the others, you don't need the frame. It's truly an attention grabbing photo in it's original format.

And, I'm truly honored that you were inspired by little me. :) I'm full of smiles. Can't wait to see more.

I guess I missed the frame, but I love it like this! I love the contrast of the thorns and the delicate flowers and bird. I also love the contrast between the sharp face and soft blurred body. As for chiggers, I"m so glad we don't have them here! Do you have to paint the bites with nail polish to smother them, or is that an old wives tale?

Thank you, Kim. I really liked this shot and was glad to have gotten it in spite of the chiggers. The nail polish is a wives tale but it helps as long as you think it does. (Supposedly, they are already long gone) After that, little helps, other than fortitude and saying, "I will not scratch, I will not scrat... (scratch)". I suppose one just has to realize that Summer in Texas means chiggers. These must have been really hungry because they ate the bug spray along with me. ~Sky

I appreciate that you have to suffer a lot more than I do to go after images!
