Excellent idea, and very well executed! This is absolutely the sort of thing that I would put on my wall. I think I may like the symmetry of the other version in your portfolio more, but honestly I like both versions quite a bit.

Personally, I like the ultra-abstract, so if there were no boats or sun in the pic, I would probably be looking at it for quite some while before I figured out it was the sea. But that's just my view.

Very nice - not normally my kinda thing at all but extremely eye-catching.
