mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 6, 2007 The concept of shattering of a set of points plays an important role in Vapnik Chervonenkis theory, also knows as VC- theory. OMG!! Just break your pencils NOW!!! You can find any information about the VC theory at Wikapedia. ~ ENJOY! Link to comment
kellen1 0 Posted July 6, 2007 I hate it when that happens! Great Illustration of the weekly theme-creative and colorful. Is that your personality shining through? =o) Link to comment
kellen1 0 Posted July 6, 2007 I hope there is a class involved and you are not just doing this for FUN! If you are, then you are without a doubt, ready for the koo-koo house! :-) Link to comment
marc12074 0 Posted July 6, 2007 At least if you are koo koo you take photos with great color and composition. If that's what it takes then perhaps we all need to be a little koo koo. Me I'm just koo koo for coco puffs. Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted July 6, 2007 don't have a freakin clue as to this theory...but you're definetly koo -koo, but oh so lovably koo -k00 .......... and i love this colorful, happy , little photo! Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 6, 2007 BUT, I did try to work the theory ~ STINKS BTW and I did do over 400 pics on this silly thing because I am working VERY VERY hard at my photography skills here with this assignment. Tryiing to do things right (write) as they say. I am hoping that it is working and that I am doing ok. my husband burst my bubble and said. TOOOOOOO much shadow and I went REALLY KOOOOO KOOOO and so oh well I don't have studio light but then again I told him that people that are righting down stuff (ooops almost said a bad word) don't have studio lights either. AND people in koo koo places don't get lamps. Do you know you can burn yourself with a 40 wat bulb? OUCH!!!! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 6, 2007 Too much shadow? Not for me Micki... :) You're nuts for sure... as are all trumpet players... lol. This is a very unique and interesting photograph. I really like it! :) Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 6, 2007 Well, you have to do what you have to do with only Donny and Marie records and Lego's! HA! he he So, Don't want to break my records and well since I can't DRIVE out somewhere I have to think with my ol' head as FRED said once a while back and DO STUFF that is in my old back yard. Besides I am working on the little things and starting on technique. What better what to start then playing with colors ;) Link to comment
fergi 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Not bad for studio work. Looks like me and the pencils after attempting higher math (meaning ANY math). Well done. me Link to comment
bartimeus1 0 Posted July 6, 2007 "Shattering" was the first word in my mind, when I saw this one as a thumbnail. An interesting and forthcoming capture. I see something very much familiar at your technique: Get close, show the essentials and let the DoF do the rest. :-) Hmmm... Many creative people are being told that they are totally "KOO-KOO"... I`m not a creative thinker, but you obviously are... (Thinking about the CHOP CHOP, etc...) But I`m not telling you to get into a warm and cozy room that has soft walls... ;-D Anyhow, back to the old drawing/writing board... I like this image. It has lot`s of strength and it tells a story. I might be tempted to correct the color cast, but it allso gives warmth and personality for the image. Alpo Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 6, 2007 NOPE, didn't touch it at all except for cropping it a bit. whew I am trying so hard to let my talent as a photographer do the work. AND YEP, the color could be tweeked probably but I did do about 450 pictures today to pull off about 30 decent ones that captured words that worked or enough shattered images. The rest all "sucked"! OOOPS that was a bad word... I guess all the writing got to be! Arghhhh The funny thing was my SON really thought I was mad because I have this silly tremor and I never write because I ahve a hard time writing and my handwritings stinks. well that is my handwriting as is! HA you all knew I was koo koo anyway :) ~ he he Link to comment
richygale 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Micki, I think this is great such a good image very colourful and sharp with great use of DOF. Very Well done Rich. Link to comment
rogerleekam 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Wow! That pencil didn't just break. It seems to have exploded. Hope no skin splinters were involved. Excellent composition right on topic. Link to comment
gerfoy3 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Too much shadow...Don't think so, even more shadow would really enhance the mood.. The colours work great here, this is very creative and original, I love it.. Ger.. Link to comment
steve lamplugh 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Micki, I didn't know that underneath all that creativity and humour lurked such a deep thinker!! This is wonderful, and educational too!! Link to comment
jan_piller 0 Posted July 6, 2007 hahahaha I love this - I like both versions! I think this is amazing! such a good job! And a very unique way of going about the theme. Look it up in the enyclopedia! You are a total nutbar! love it! Link to comment

dee 14 0 Posted July 6, 2007 I really like the colour composition in this Micki, and i love the shallow DOF. Great job being literal, yet not so literal. You say that you are working hard on the projects, and it most definately shows. Great job! Link to comment
xgaomd 0 Posted July 6, 2007 Micki, I love photographs that tell stories. This is it. Love the composition and ordered disorder. Great study. Xiang Gao Link to comment
JohnMWright 1 Posted July 6, 2007 Micki, I love this! Great work, this is very original! I like how your mind works, koo koo or not! And who isn't just a little nuts anyway? Wouldn't life be boring otherwise? I like the lighting, it seems like the level of light one gets from a lamp while working, which strikes me as the perfect mood for this. I like the color... very bold. I like the depth of field. You can see there was a lot going on here, but the focus is on the shattered pencil. Best of all is the story! Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted July 7, 2007 OMG!!! I love Dean Koontz, but don't have Shattered...If I did, then I'd be kicking myself right now for not having used it this week! :) Micki, you crack me up! I have to say we're all a bit koo koo and that's a good thing! Oh, and I wouldn't mind a private padded room for a few days if I could take my camera and some good books...I could use the peace and quiet! LOL As for the pic itself, I think your hard work is definitely paying off...the composition, the lighting (yes, I like it this way) and the DOF all work together wonderfully to not only demonstrate the theme, but provide the eye with a colorful journey throughout the frame. Nicely done. Leslie Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 7, 2007 My kids, neighbor and everyone else thinks I am koo koo for doing this photo shoot on my kitchen table. YEP! Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted July 7, 2007 I do mine in my laundry room, on my dining room table, or on the kids playroom table depending on the light! :) Gotta be resourceful when you don't have a studio! Link to comment
